Snow Day

The first snow day of the year! This is the second snow storm this month. We had a storm last week, but still had school. Very few schools are opened today, just about everybody is closed today. It is bitterly cold outside! I know, since I walked down the driveway to get the newspaper and to take pictures. I even got all of my presents wrapped this morning. I did not take any pictures last week. Here are a few of the pics I took this morning. I have gorgeous views outside my windows.

April Winter Wonderland

It started snowing yesterday morning, but didn't really start accumulating until sometime in the evening. I think it looks gorgeous outside. The trees in the back have leaves that are budding, so they look kind of funny with snow on them. I had to take pics of them. I walked down the driveway this morning to get the newspaper, and took my camera with me, do I could take pictures of the beauty that God bestowed upon us. Below are three of the pics that I took.

Snow Day!

Today was a snow day! Even the Universities are closed today, that meant no class tonight. Today was either snow day 4 or 5 for the school districts around here. That means if there are anymore snow days, school districts will have to make them up. More systems are on their way. So gorgeous up here. The snow reminds me of what God does for us when we ask for forgiveness of our sings, He makes us white as snow. I got to try out my new boots this morning. I picked them up yesterday afternoon. There was so much snow, that if I tried to take the car out, I probably would've gotten my car stuck in the driveway, so I walked down to get the newspaper this morning. The snow in the driveway was about calf deep. The yard next to the driveway seemed about knee deep. I had to check it out. The snow on the deck, looks to be about waist deep. As usual, I took pics this morning. I took both the camera and my phone with me on my walk. I was going to walk back down later this afternoon, but our driveway got plowed, and my dad had to move his van so that area could get plowed, so he drove down for the mail. There will be school tomorrow and my other curriculum class as well.

My mom saw Timmy on Monday at the hospital. He was admitted last Saturday night. Mom talked with a nurse on Monday, and was basically told that Timmy has MRSA. That would explain why he keeps getting infections and have been in the hospital so much in the past 15 months. Timmy's birthday is this Friday, so I will go to the library, check out a few books then head over to the hospital to see him. No birthday presents until he gets out of the hospital. I so feel for him. I wonder if this is God's way of telling me I need to let him go, loosen my grasp on him. I love him very much, and my time with him is pure unconditional love.

All Clear

I saw my onc this morning. My scans came back clear. He said that the lymph nodes that had been showing up on the previous scans weren't there this one. He thinks they were just reacting the interferon. He also said that there is no sign of melanoma. I passing on the good news.

For now, I have decided to keep my port in. I will have to have it flushed every 4-6 weeks, basically monthly. I am planning on getting a medical ID bracelet saying that I have port.

I had extra blood work done two weeks ago, because of seeing my family doc next week. My bad cholesterol is a little high, but my good is a little low. My blood pressure is normal. I was weighed and my weight is the same as three weeks ago. I have lost 58 pounds in the past 18 months.

Grad school starts tonight. I am supposed to go back into town, but the roads are not very good. Here at the house, we have about a foot of snow. This is all since last Friday. The temperatures are really cold, in the teens for the high and the lows in the single digits.

Texas, Here is Some Snow!

To all of my wonderful friends in TX here is what I woke up to! I can not stop smiling or praising God for the beauty outside of my house. I do have to drive in it today to work.

Dancin Snowflakes

I didn't go to church yesterday, and my ear and throat felt much better. Since I had called off from ushering the night before, I chose to end up staying home. They both bothered me a tiny bit, but nothing like the previous days.

I worked today. Wasn't a bad day. The coolest part was during lunch duty. It started to snow, which usually puts a smile on my face. At first it didn't look like it would stick to the ground, but then it started to come down pretty hard. The flakes seemed big to me/ Then it looked like they dancing. It was so cool to watch. The kids there were amazed as well. They are hoping for a snow day for tomorrow, but I don't think it will happen. 4-5 kids ended up outside without any coats on, and they were enjoying it. The birds were fun to watch. Seemed like the snow was confusing the birds. Looked like they were diving into the snow. The s now did let up, and by the time school got out, the snow was gone. I truly enjoyed the snow, and thanked our Father for it.

After school, I had an appointment with my family doc. He called me "waxy" for all of the wax that was in my ears. I do have a small ear infection. I was given a prescription and had it filled.

The snow came back late this afternoon, and soon I will be able to take pics of the snow. I so wished I had my phone with me this morning to take pics of the snow.

Need a Biopsy

Saw my onc this morning. My dad was there with me for my appointment. First, I am a little anemic, explains why I am tired, besides the Interferon making me tired. My ovaries are fine. They thought they were seeing something near my port when I got the mammograms/ultrasounds last month. There's nothing really there. They do see a 3.5cm mass in my left breast. There are two options, wait 3 months then get another mammogram/ultrasound, or get a biopsy. My onc prefers me getting the biopsy, because of my melanoma. The radiologist is going to perform the biopsy instead of a surgeon, because this way, I will get it done sooner.

So, Wednesday, March 26, at 9am, I am going to get a Sterotactic Guided Biopsy of my left breast. They believe it is benign, and I was told not to worry. I haven't yet. I will get the results the following week, when I go to see my onc again.

The biopsy can't be done next week, because I am going to a teacher job fair over at the university. So far, I have 8 interviews scheduled for next week. I have room for 4 more. Please keep that in your prayers also.

I saw my surgeon on Wednesday. I do not have to see him again for 6 months. He said something to me about seeing a dermatologist, so I have an appointment to see one on April 2.

Today, I have been the most "awake" than I have been all week.

When people read blogs, they will sometimes look at the comments that have been posted. I've done that, and I don't care if you read those that have been posted on mine. There are two comments that were posted on my post from last week, with pics of snow. Please do not try to read those comments, I'm afraid if you do, if they might try to cause a problem for you on your computer or not. I do not know how to delete them. I've changed a couple of things on posting comments.

My friends in TX, yes, I know you received some snow this week. Your most recent storm, is up here in OH. It started snowing little after 10 am today. We already have 3-6 inches of snow, and are expecting about a foot or more by 4 am on Sunday. Maybe, I will take more pics and post them. Enjoy your snow.

Snow Day

Woke up to a gorgeous site this morning! I was up about an hour, before I saw on tv, that where I was supposed to work today was closed. All schools are closed in about a 100 mile radius of where I live. It has been snowing all day! We will end up with 6-8 inches of snow when it is all done snowing. I can't remember the last time we had this much snow at one time.

I went outside twice to take pictures. First time, standing in the doorway, and went out to the driveway. The second time, I put boots on, and walked down the driveway a bit, and into the front yard. I took a pic of the front of the house, and a bunch of the trees.

Enjoy the view. It is absolutely gorgeous! I have been enjoying the view all day.

I woke up to this...

Our second Artic Blast blew in last night. Very cold and windy. In three of the pics, you can see the wind blowing and moving the snow around. Enjoy these pics of beauty.

More Snow

The snow lasted for a few hours yesterday afternoon. I went to church this morning, the roads were fine, and it was just raining. When I left church three hours later, it was starting to snow. I spent almost an hour with my brother, and during that time, it really came down, the roads weren't very good. These pics I took this afternoon, from the same place as I did yesterday, standing at the front door, and in the back of house, from the porch. Looks gorgeous. My favorite part of winter is the morning after a snowfall. I am enjoying the pretty scence the snow has made.

Playing baseball

The Indians and the Angels played their series at the Brewers field Tuesday through Thursday. The Indians won two of the games. In today's paper, it said in total amount of snow taken from the Indians field this past week was 33 inches.

The White Sox are in town for a three game series. The Sox won last night and the Indians won this afternoon. The Sox did get on base today, but nobody made it home, so we won our first shutout of the season. The Indians record is now 6-3, and we have only played 2 different teams.

We will have to make up the Seattle series by playing two different days of double-headers on the same off days. They have not yet decided which days they will be. They are thinking of the first one will be in June.

It is currently snowing.

Still no baseball

It is now Monday, and there is still no Cleveland Indians baseball games to watch. I am going through baseball withdrawl. My mom came home from work this afternoon, and first thing she told me was that today's double headers was cancelled. The Indians and the Mariners have been trying to play baseball since Friday and just can't play.

10 inches of snow has fallen at Jacob's Field. The groundscrew now has three more days to get the field ready for this weekend's series against the White Sox. Why three days you ask? The Angels and the Indians are moving their three game set to Milwakee to play. The Brewers have a retractable dome, and since they are not home this week, they agreed to let the Indians and the Angels to play there. This is only the second time since 1961, a series was moved to a different location due to weather.

The Indians and Seattle has to make up the four missed games. There are only 6 common off days between the two teams. I am upset that there is no baseball. I want to watch baseball!

Home Opener Postponed

Yesterday, Good Friday, April 6, was Home Opener for the Cleveland Indians. It was postponed due to snow!

Woke up Thursday morning to snow. Woke up Good Friday to more snow. Festivities started 2 hours in advance yesterday. First pitch was scheduled for 4:05 pm. It was snowing. The grounds crew used leaf blowers to get rid the snow from the outfield. They even shoveled snow from the infield, after taking the tarp off. The start of the game was delayed by an hour.

They had two snow delays in the first inning alone. We arrived at church around 6:45, and they were only in the second inning. When we left church around 8 pm, they were in the top of the fifth inning, two outs, bases loaded, and the count at 1-2. The Indians were winning 4-0. We were one strike a way from winning the game, when another snow delay was called. Finally, around 8:45 pm, the game was called. Get this, just a few minutes later, the snow stopped! We could've won! The irony of it all.

The game was rescheduled for 1:05 pm today to play a day night double header. Around 10 am this morning, both games were postponed due to snow and cold temperatures. If you dont' know, Cleveland sits on the banks of Lake Erie, and we have a thing called Lake Effect Snow. Some areas received up to a foot of snow yesterday and Thursday night.

Now, the Indians have a double header tomorrow on Easter. They are also scheduled to play on Monday (already on the schedule.) This is the only time all season, that Seattle will be here. I wonder how we will make up any of these lost games.

What this all means, no baseball for me to watch or to listen to. I have been so looking forward to the start of baseball, that this is hard for me.

Snow

I woke up this morning to one of my two favorite scenes...the morning after a snowfall. What a beautiful sight it was! There was about 3 inches on the ground. The snow on the tree limbs. Was gorgeous! Plus, to top it off, I saw 2-3 deer this morning. All of this, was viewed from my bedroom window.

This evening, before supper, we saw 13-20 deer along the treeline and heading into the field next door. Twice in one day, I was able to see deer! I just thanked the Lord both times.

Three times since Sunday, I have had to clean off my car before going anywhere.

Snow Day

Today is a Snow Day, or down south is called a bad weather/inclement weather day. As I know of, only two districts stayed open today. That means the makority of the schools will be in session on Good Friday come April.

We have been receiving some type of precipitation since Friday. The rain became ice Sunday/Monday. Woke up to snow this morning. There isn't much snow, but the tempeatures are just below freezing, and there is some ice.

The bad part about being a sub, and having snow days, is that we subs, are not on some phone list to tell us. We have to find out by listening to the radio or watching tv. I was supposed to sub today. I still went out, because I didn't hear anything on the radio or see anything on the tv this morning. I go out, and the parking lots of the school I passes, and the one I was supposed to be at were empty. I turned around and came home. Couldn't go back to bed, was already up and awake.

For not getting any snow over Christmas break, it was nice to see some snow today.
